Guidance Updates November

In October we focused on our character attribute of COOPERATION. We demonstrated this by working together towards shared goal and purposes. Many students earned in-class recognition for their efforts and 7 students were recognized at our morning assembly. For the month of November, we will be focusing on COURAGE. When a student is “caught” showing this attribute by doing the right thing even when it is difficult, they will be recognized at the end of the month. Please see for more information about our character education programme.

We also recognized our students for their participation in Heritage’s first annual Week of Kindness. Hundreds of challenge cards were submitted showing thousands of friendly greetings, compliments and acts of kindness by our students. Bisons earned the most house points (1250), followed closely by Hawks (1150), Cougars (1100) and Grizzlies (1050). Check out photos from the week on @heritagegirltalk and @heritageegypt on Instagram. Ask you child how they showed kindness at school today. Ask them how someone showed kindness to them. Keep spreading the kindness!

Our Canadian University fair was a success. Students from grades 10-12 asked engaged and enthusiastic questions about their futures and are well on their way to planning their post-secondary studies.

November 19th will be our International and Local University fair. It promises to be a great event too. Grades 10, 11, and 12, including parents are welcome from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM in the atrium.

We have had visits by our recent graduates who spoke to our grade 9 and 10 students about responsibility and expectations of their university professors. They encouraged our students to be punctual and present for all classes and to do assignments early, not at the last minute. They agreed that the skills the students are taught at Heritage, if practiced now, will help them when they reach university.
