Self-Esteem

This is the final week of Heritage’s anti-bully awareness month, although we will be covering related topics for the remainder of the school year.

This week we are talking about self-esteem and how it is import to like ourselves and continue to work on ourselves. When bullies try to steal our self-esteem,we must not let them. Otherwise we are giving them power over our emotions!

How we feel about ourselves is key; it’s called SELF-ESTEEM.

Life is full of events that are beyond our control – events that are difficult or hurtful. You can’t control the other person, but you

can control your response and keep your dignity. We DO have control over our responses to these events. CHOOSE not to let others make you feel bad about yourself. Keep your own self-esteem high.

SELF-ESTEEM AFFECTS ALMOST EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES:

-DECISIONS WE MAKE

-CHOICE OF FRIENDS

-WHAT WE LAUGH AT

-HOW HARD WE TRY

-HOW ASSERTIVE WE ARE

-IF WE’RE WILLING TO TAKE RISKS AND TRY NEW THINGS

How strong is your self-esteem?

We took the “Self-Esteem Survey”. We will re-take the survey closer to the end of the school year and compare our results with the aim of raising most people’s self-esteem to “really high” or even “exceptionally high”.
