Anti-Bullying Awareness

This week’s guidance assembly addressed bullying.

Bullying is an ongoing misuse of power in relationships through repeated VERBAL, PHYSICAL and/or SOCIAL behaviours that causes physical and psychological harm.

Proper Use of Technology

Students, especially in elementary/middle school, should be supervised when they are using technology. Cyber-Bullying is a type of bullying which sees children bullying each other through social media and communication apps such as WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.…

Please follow these 5 steps if you or someone you know is being cyberbullied:

  1. Do not respond!
  2. Keep the evidence.
  3. Report to the social media site.
  4. Block the person.
  5. Tell a parent or trusted adult.

Parents, please read the following article regarding how times have changed since we were in school. Bullying at school now follows our children home. Let’s all stay involved so we can ensure our students are using technology with proper etiquette and encourage plenty of off-line down time.
